Your Lordship
The Accused Hong Gia Siong bought a real gold bar from my Client, Wa Ong Gong on November 7, 2020 between 4.00 pm and 7pm. The next day, the Victim, Wa Ong Gong realised that the money was fake because he could feel the smoothness of the fake money. (Prosecution Exhibit IR22).
CCTV tendered by the Royal Malaysian Police captured what appeared to be printing of a bunch of printed money at 5:33pm on 7/9/2020. Prosecution Exhibit PDRM3 was obtained by the police during the raid on the Accused’s residence.
The Prosecution Counsel has other evidence that the brother and wife of the Accused claimed that he wasn’t at home at the material time. He said that he went to buy a million-dollar gold bar. His wife knew that the Accused did not have enough money to buy a million-dollar bar of gold because she checked his bank account and his wallet and she has testified that the Accused did not have enough money to buy a million-dollar gold bar on 7/11/2020.
Yesterday on 7/21/2020 5:00am, a police group searched the house of the Accused and found a special drawer hidden under his bed that had a big bundle of notes worth a billion dollars. It had stickers that said “fake money” in Chinese.
In conclusion, Your Lordship, the Accused has been proven to be guilty as charged. I urge Your Lordship to mete out a jail sentence of up to 30 years.
Thank you. (Jayrel is 9 years old)
