Hello everyone! Welcome to Sidd The Book Reviewer's Channel. I am Siddhanth, your official new book reviewer.
Today I am going to review a famous book titled, The House With A Clock In Its Walls by John Bellairs.
I am going to tell you three parts today, and that is the author, the illustrator and the book. So, let’s get started!
First, let me tell you a bit about John Bellairs.
John Bellairs is a famous American author who has written so many stories such as, The Face In The Frost, The House With A Clock In Its Walls, The Letter, The Witch And The Ring, to name a few .
John Bellairs died due to cardiovascular disease in his home in Haverhill, Massachusetts in 1991. He was 53 years old when he died.
Next, let me tell you a little bit about the illustrator.
Edward St. John Gorey drew most of the pictures in John Bellairs books. Edward is also a famous American writer and most popular of the John Bellairs book series.
Edward was born in Chicago and attended Harvard University. Edward died nine years after John Bellairs in the year 2000 so he probably was 75 years old.
And finally, the last topic of today’s episode, it is about the book. The House With A Clock In Its Walls is a book about a boy called Lewis Barnavelt, who lived in his uncle's mansion and discovers that his Uncle Jonathan and Mrs. Zimmermann are both magicians!
It would be better asking a cardboard man to do your chores so that you can play video games all day!
But that’s not what magic is for the Barnavelts. It is a tool to stop the loud ticking clock in the walls and to stop the evil with Selena Izard from calling upon the End of the World.
Eventually, Lewis thinks it's his fault because he and his friend Tarby raised Selena from the dead.
So Lewis, Jonathan and Mrs. Zimmermann set on a quest to stop Selena from bringing destruction to the world. Will the world come to an end? It is up to Lewis and the two wizards.
I bought this book from Bookxcess and if you are unable to buy it, you can also download the e-book. This is the end, but if you want more book reviews subscribe to Sidd The Book Reviewer.
