It is never too young to find out what university life s all about.
Thanks to Uncle Stephen, our creative writing teacher, who arranged for a campus tour at Sunway University.
It was during their Open Day on June 25, 2022. There were many things that we saw during the tour.
Relax and fasten your seat belt, It is my turn to show you around what we saw during our visit to the university. It is amazing that I find it hard to believe that there are so many things I have never seen before in my eleven years.
We were taken on a tour of the Tun Hussein Onn library. I was truly amazed with everything I saw inside! There were too many books for me to even count! The beauty of it all is that the books are placed all in alphabetical order for students to find the books easily. You can find any book on any topic you want!
There was a silent zone for students to concentrate with their reading. There is also a computer section for others to do their assignments and research. Discussion rooms are also available for students to discuss their assignments. This helps me to understand why Uncle Stephen put us in Zoom breakout rooms to discuss before coming together to the main room.
University students are also taught to do research. They can either use physical books or e-books to carry out their research. There is also the internet that students can access to look up for some information.
Next, we were taken to visit a lecture theatre. The best thing I liked about it was the air conditioning. It was cool and nice, even though there may be over 100 students in the lecture hall. As university students are expected to attend lectures, there is no attendance taken.
Finally, we were taken to a briefing by a lady who talked about the scholarships that Sunway offers to students. You will need A's for most of the subjects in order to win a scholarship. The scholarship will help students to save their parents’ money.
After the briefing session ended for the day, my father took my brother and I to visit Sunway Pyramid. On the way there using the Sunway Bridge, we saw the Sunway Lagoon Resort.
Although we were exhausted after the day’s outing, I was motivated to study harder so that I can enter the university.
