The number of Covid-19 cases have spiked, with cases hitting nearly 7,000 cases a day.

These are difficult times for all of us, especially the frontliners.

I want to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the doctors and nurses who go the extra mile to save the patients’ lives.

To these heroes and heroines, I would like to say: Despite the risks you are exposed to yourselves, you continue to devote your time and energy to contain this pandemic, often without asking anything in return.

We are indeed humbled by your invaluable sacrifices and commitment!

Every night, while we sleep soundly and comfortably, you are the ones who burn the midnight oil to treat the ill and sick patients.

Saying millions of thanks to all of you, Doctors and Nurses, will not be enough to appreciate you for risking your own lives for the benefit of the nation.

Don’t ever give up! We salute you. You will surely power through this pandemic and find joys in your life. Hold on and trust that every cloud has a silver lining.

Unity is strength. Let us, therefore, work together to win the battle against Covid-19. Thank you very much to all the frontline workers for your noble contribution and dedication.

Before closing, I would like to share a little poem with all of you. Please lend me your ears.

A group of military,

All dressed up in white.

No more green uniforms,

With camouflage patterns on it.

Have you ever wondered who they are?

They fight a strong fight,

With the invisible enemies.

Without any weapons,

As well as no magical powers.

Tik…Tok...Tik...Tok….

They never realised,

how many hours have passed.

Beep...beep...beep….

They can even count your heartbeat,

From far away.

All they hear and see,

Are people’s cries and sufferings.

They are the first,

And also the last person,

Who care and hold the sick people’s hand,

Till their last breath.

O’ saviours, O’ saviours,

How courageous you are!

You are crowned,

For your dignity,

And priceless scarification.

Our medical heroes and heroines,

We know that your patients are more than just a name.

You are most needed at this time,

Your extra mile can surely make the difference,

We love you with all our hearts.
